Great Fire of London

Year 2 have enjoyed another visit to our Immersive Classroom and found themselves on Pudding Lane, outside the bakery at the time of the Great Fire of London. We heard how the fire started and heard extracts from Samuel Pepys diary telling us about the events of the fire. As the room warmed up, we could smell the scent of smoke in the air and the children saw the flames all along the streets of London. We heard about how they tried to put the fire out and had to use gunpowder to create a fire break. We learnt about the changes that happened after the fire and fire safety tips for today.
