Stack-Em Up!
Speed Stacking to Norwich Cathedral!
It has been mightily busy week for one reason and another. The Infants have been busy little bees this week too with twelve of our Years 1 and 2 children going off to East Norfolk Sixth Form College to participate in a speed stacking event led by the sports leaders there. It was non-competitive and the only opponent for the children was themselves as they attempted to beat their previous times and actions. Everyone behaved so well and had a great time with an obscure sport.
On Wednesday, Year 2 parents experienced their reading cafe where Mrs. Vaughan explained the reading journey for an Expected child in the subject. Differences between reading stages were modelled and the aims were to demonstrate the importance of reading, the value of practising at home and the significance of enabling children to develop that passion to become a lifelong reader. Thank you to all those parents who came.
Friday saw Year 1 children go off to Norwich Cathedral to learn more about Edith Cavell and the history surrounding her, not to mention the impact she had back in Victorian times. There are not many children who dislike going on a trip, especially when a large coach turns up and Bumble Bees were no exception. Everyone learnt a lot and behaved well.
Next week, we have our Christingle service in school with Reverend Jo on Tuesday and our Decoration Day with families on Wednesday, which I hope you have signed up to.
Have great weekend everyone!
